Winslow

In September 2000, we traveled to Arizona to visit the Grand Canyon, the Navajo Nation and Sedona. Carol had always wanted to see the Grand Canyon. I first saw it in 1974 when our family moved from San Jose, CA to Chelmsford, MA. Remember the scene in National Lampoon's Vacation when the Griswold family stops at the rim, takes a picture then quickly leaves? That's what I remember from the 1974 trip.

We stayed in Chinle in the Navajo Nation and visited the Canyon de Chelly National Monument. In Sedona, we stayed at a wonderful bed and breakfast, Canyon Villa. We also took "side trips" to Gallup, NM, the old mining town of Jerome, AZ and stood on a corner in Winslow, AZ (above).
