The Consolas font looks nice if you are running Windows XP on an LCD monitor with ClearType enabled. Here is a screen shot. Although the font itself is free, it requires Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 or later. If you don't have that installed, the easiest way to get the font is to install Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5, then install the Consolas Font Pack.
